The biggest solar project build to date by Sunstroom is the 5 mw project on the former WWII airfield of Long Newton neat Malmesbury in Wiltshile, the project covers in total more then 35 acres and is one of the most efficient and well build solar projects in the UK, the project was fully build and operation on the 29th of July 2011.
The project was build with about 21.000 soler panels from Heliene Spain and Heliene US and inverters from ABB, the structure was delivered and build by Gildo Systems from Alicante Spain.
The project was also connected thanks to the efforts of the high-voltage specialist Power Systems UK ltd.
Thanks to a fantastic teamwork of all people involved we can say today with facts in our hands that this project is the most advanced and best working Solar power PV plant in the UK. The whole power plant was build in a record breaking time of 5 weeks something never seen in this industy before.
